The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family. On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife goodbye and said, 'Well, I'm off now. The man should be here soon.'

'Have you really?' said the photographer. 'Well, that's good. Did you know babies are my specialty?'

'Well that's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat'.
After a moment she asked, blushing, 'Well, where do we start?'
'Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch, and perhaps a couple on the bed. And sometimes the living room floor is fun. You can really spread out there.'
'Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work out for Harry and me!'
'Well, Ma'am, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.'
'My, that's a lot!', gasped Mrs. Smith.

'Ma'am, in my line of work a man has to take his time. I'd love to be In and out in five minutes, but I'm sure you'd be disappointed with that.'
'Don't I know it,' said Mrs. Smith quietly.
The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures. 'This was done on the top of a bus,' he said.
'Oh, my God!' Mrs. Smith exclaimed, grasping at her throat.
'And these twins turned out exceptionally well - when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with.'

'She was difficult?' asked Mrs. Smith.
'Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to the park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep to get a good look'
'Four and five deep?' said Mrs. Smith, her eyes wide with amazement.Yes', the photographer replied. 'And for more than three hours, too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling - I could hardly concentrate, and when darkness approached I had to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just had to pack it all in.'
Mrs. Smith leaned forward. 'Do you mean they actually chewed on your, uh...equipment?'
'It's true, Ma'am, yes.. Well, if you're ready, I'll set-up my tripod and we can get to work right away.'

'Tripod?'
'Oh yes, Ma'am. I need to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big to be held in the hand very long.'
Mrs. Smith fainted"

Well, now......here' s something I never knew before, and now that I know it, I feel compelled to share this post with my friends in the hope that they, too, will feel edified. Isn't history more fun when you know something about it?

Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English,proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous English longbow was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as "plucking the yew" (or "pluck yew").

Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew! Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as "giving the bird."

IT IS STILL AN APPROPRIATE SALUTE TO THE FRENCH TODAY!

September 1752 :Actually was not a month!!

Have you ever seen the calendar of 1952? If you have noticed you will find that you will fine that
eleven days are wiped off the face of the calender of september 1752.If you go through http://www.timeanddate.com you can see the calendar of that year from where i have pasted this onto my blog . If you are a Linux user then you easily figure it out through following command.
At $ prompt ,type cal 9 1752.
You will get surprise when you see that 11 days have been swept away from the calender.

It is a month with whole of eleven days missing.This was the time when England shifted from Roman Julian calender to the Gregorian calender and the King of England ordered those eleven days to be wiped off the face of the month of September of 1752.What could't a king do in those days and the workers had to work for 11 days less ,but got paid for the entire month.That's how the "Paid Leave" are born.hail the king!!

I noticed a new option in my AdSense account that is AdSense for feeds, a program that displays contextual and placement-targeted ads in FeedBurner feeds. FeedBurner announced in May that AdSense for Feeds will be available to a small number of publishers and now it seems that everyone can use it.

FeedBurner is a Chicago-based company that provides media distribution and audience engagement services for blogs and RSS feeds. Its Web-based tools, including an extensive feed and blog advertising network, help publishers promote, deliver, and monetize their content on the Web and make feed-based content more accessible and manageable for its end users.

Google believes that feed-based content and advertising is a developing space where they can add value for users, advertisers and publishers. FeedBurner's technology and talented team are a great addition to Google's current solutions for advertisers and publishers. Google think there is great value in feed-based advertising. As more and more content emerges on the web, users are looking for an easier way to aggregate that content and create opportunities for advertisers to reach their target audiences while maintaining a high quality user experience.

The new AdSense for Feeds option lets you create a new ad unit that has a format automatically selected from 468x60 and 300x250. "Generally, the 300x250 size will display when there's more content and when your feed is being viewed in a device with a larger display," explains Google. You can choose if you want image ads, the ad frequency, the position (top or bottom of the post), the colors and a channel that tracks the ad performance.This is how we can activate the adsense set up for the feeds.

Presently, there is no connection between Adsense account and the Feedburner account .Therefore is is need to migrate from FeedBurner to Google Adsense.Google will soon provide a self-service process to migrate from an account on the original FeedBurner Website to a Google Account.

From AdSense, you can easily burn a new feed by entering the address of your blog and providing the Atom or RSS feeds options. The feeds can be managed , but there's no visible change other than the integration with Google Accounts and the new URLs for feeds: http://feedproxy.google.com/NAME.

After activating the new feed in the adsense account , google will automatically place the ads for feeds in your blog as soon as the the feeds are added by the Adsense user .

How to remove RAVMON.exe virus without using any Antivirus?

Is your right click context menu showing some Chinese scripts ?
Is your show hidden files and folders not working ?
Is your command prompt , Registry Editor and task manager disabled ??

If all these things are happening to your Computer , the reason is that it has got infected by a virus named " RAVMON " .What can this Virus do ??

Disables task manager , Registry Editor and Command prompt .
Right click menu shows some Chinese scripts as shown in the figure.
Computer shutdown automatically and slogs a lot.
Folder Options disappear
Show hidden files and folders Option won't work.

With all these things not working , I can understand what can go with you !! because I have seen this problm in my friend's PC .But now you can be able to remove this virus completely as when i was searching for this problm I found a really good steps which are working quite nicely.

Follow the steps given below and you will be free from Ravmon.exe virus.

Confirm that you have Ravmon.exe virus . Right-click on any drive, if you see invalid characters in the menu, you are infected.

You have stop the process of virus,go to Task Manager(Ctrl+Alt+Del), go into Processes tab and find the progam named "SVCHOST.EXE", there will few more svchost in small case but you have to terminate the one which is written in CAPS, if you see more than one "SVCHOST.EXE" (all caps one) end the one with your username infront of it instead of LOCAL SERVICE, NETWORK SERVICE or SYSTEM.

Delete the virus files, for this you need to show system protected files.for this goto

My Computer>(Menu)Tools>Folder Options>(Tab)Views>Uncheck "Hide System protected files">Press OK
If you are unable to unhide the system files you can use 3rd party softwares to browse drive and delete files, try ACDsee or WinRAR.

Now you have delete these two files;

1.Autorun.inf

2.Ravmon.exe

from all of drives.Access drives from by typing drive letter in the address bar.

Once you are done with it, Open Windows folder(by address bar) and delete SVCHOST.EXE, SVCHOST.dll and MDM.exe.

Now restart the explorer.exe process by killing it in taskmanager and runing it again [(winkey + R), type "explorer" and hit enter].

Right-click on any drive and you will find valid characters...Congrats virus is removed.
This is optional as files are deleted from drives.

Remove MDM.exe from start-up.Press Winkey+R, type "msconfig" hit enter.Goto>(Tab) Start-up>Uncheck

"MDM.exe">OK>Exit without Restart.

Yesterday,I was going through my mails and i met really amazing shoe trees. I found it really interesting to keep aware of this fact to all the bloggers.Have u ever imagined that a creepy tree covered with shoes ???? ..Here it is !!

A Shoe tree, not to be confused with the shoe-preservation device of the same name, is a tree or, occasionally, a powerline pole or other wooden object that has been festooned with old shoes. Shoe trees are generally located alongside a major local thoroughfare, and may have a theme such as high heeled shoes. There are currently at least seventy-six such shoe trees in the United States, and an undetermined number elsewhere . Shoe Trees may be the greatest embodiment of the American Spirit you can find on the highway (free of admission charge, anyway)

The Shoe Tree in Beaver, Arkansas was on the road to Beaver Dam, a few miles from Dinosaur World . It was mysteriously chosen, one of many thousands of trees and woods lining an otherwise featureless highway. Hundreds of old sneakers and running shoes dangled, some over 30 feet off the ground.

A shrunken old desert tree near Vidal, California , on Hwy 62 northest of the junction with Route 177, bore both shoes and a variety of shirts -- until some maniac burned it down in 2004.

On Highway 50 near Middlegate , Nevada , a lone cottonwood stands, clotted with hundreds of shoes. One tipster tells us the first pair was thrown during a wedding night argument by a young couple; later, their children's shoes were added to the bough. Whatever its origins, the tree now seems to suck up all the discarded footwear in the county.

The original Mud Flat Shoe Tree south of Altura, California was cut down in 1993, but second generation Shoe Trees sprouted along Highway 395.

One of them, the Ravendale shoe tree , features scores of sneaker pairs dangling from branches, a strange ritual by bored locals. Not a fully developed shoe tree, but far from anywhere .

The humble sea lily (Endoxocrinus parrae) is an ocean animal closely related to the starfish, sea cucumber and sea urchin. With a ring of feathery fingers and a stalk 50 centimeters long, it resembles an ocean garden flower. And it has a sophisticated method for avoiding danger as caught in the video after the jump which shows a sea lily crawling slowly across the ocean floor on its fingers, dragging its broken stem behind it.The video was discovered by Tomasz Baumiller of the University of Michigan and Charles Messing of Nova Southeastern University's Oceanographic Center in Florida, both in the US, from archive footage captured over the last decade. It was presented at a meeting of the Geological Society of America on 16 October.

Other footage and photographs captured suggest that the sea lily makes its ocean floor dash to escape the attentions of sea urchins, which have been seen lurking on the sea bed behind the traveling sea lilies – "It's the lizard's tail strategy", Baumiller says. "The sea lily just leaves the stalk end behind. The sea urchin is preoccupied going after that, and the sea lily crawls away."

In a new study, researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center and UT Dallas, have predicted that Global warming may increase the number of people affected by kidney stones.The researchers predicted that by 2050, higher temperatures will cause an additional 1.6 million to 2.2 million kidney-stone cases, representing up to a 30 percent growth in some areas.

"This study is one of the first examples of global warming causing a direct medical consequence for humans," said Dr. Margaret Pearle, professor of urology at UT Southwestern and senior author of the paper, which appears in today's issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Kidney stones are excruciatingly painful hard deposits of minerals and salts that can form in the kidneys that tend to be more common in hot climates, with dehydration a key risk factor for the condition.

Kidney stones currently are most common in the southeastern United States, but this "kidney stone belt" is forecast to grow to the northward and westward, the researchers wrote in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Researchers have found that people who live in warmer regions have a higher rate of developing kidney stones compared to people who live in other regions.

This is caused by the fact that sweating removes fluid from the body, increasing salt concentration in urine. Not drinking enough water and other fluids or losing too much fluids through dehydration more likely in hotter climates can leave one's urine with higher concentrations of substances that can form kidney stones.

The fear is that by the year 2050, global warming may progress to the point where there is a great spike in the number of kidney stone cases. The annual cost in the United States of treating kidney stone cases could increase by 2050 by about $1 billion per year i.e. 25 percent more than current levels.

Approximately 20,000 people live in the area below the volcano.
The Chaiten volcano in southern Chile has been erupting .It's last eruption was 9000 years ago.
It is pumping quite a bit of ash onto the atmosphere. In fact it has a thin trail from it's point of origin across the continent and over the Atlantic.More than 4,000 people have already fled.
Another million people living in the Naples area are threatened by Mt. Vesuvius' continued unrest. Rather the predictions can be performed by the volcanologists as they can use some proper toolkits aur techniques like measuring vapours for the particular volcano but if that could be possible then why should thousands of lives destroy ??

Mummy of Egypt's "Lost Queen" Found

This mummy is the body of gender-bending female pharaoh Hatshepsut, who ruled ancient Egypt as both queen and king nearly 3,500 years ago, archaeologists announced on 27th June 2007.

The mummified remains were first discovered in a tomb in Egypt's Valley of the Kings since King TUT. The body was left there unidentified until two months ago, when it was brought to Cairo's Egyptian Museum for testing.

The discovery of the Hatshepsut mummy is one of the most important finds in the history of Egypt.She was more powerful than Cleopatra and Nefertitis.She led the whole life dressed herself as a man,declare herself pharaoh .Though her power stretched over Egypt and her reign was prosperous her legacy was erased from the Egyptian history and all the records were removed and her corpse was remover from her town.

Computer Tomography (CT) scan allowed the scientists to go thought distinct physical traits of Hatshepsut mummy to that of her ancestors.So you must want to be aware of the facts that what is mummification and who is that King TUT . And for that I go through some search materials and find these which i wanna share with you.

Mummification : It is very long and expensive process .Since the Egyptians believed that mummification was essential for passage to the afterlife, people were mummified and buried as well as they could possibly afford.First, the body was washed and ritually purified. The next step was to remove the deceased person's inner organs.
A slit was cut into the left side of the body so that the embalmers could remove the intestines, the liver, the stomach and the lungs. Each of these organs was embalmed using natron, which served to dry out the organs and discourage bacteria from decaying the tissues.

The organs were then individually wrapped using long strips of linen and placed in canopic jars.After the removal of inner organs ,the body cavity was stuffed with natron.The body was then placed on a slanted embalming table and completely covered with natron.The mummy was then prepared for bandaging.Once the mummy was finally prepared ,it was for the funeral.

King TUT : King Tutankhamen get his reigning at the age of just nine.It is thought that he was murdered by an official because his skull was bashed in and only a person of great importance could get near enough to harm him .Burial site of King Tutankhamen was discovered in the Valley of the Kings in 1922 by Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon.

It is supposed that there exist a curse of King TUT.Because due to this great archaeological discovery,many other archaeologists went to the Valley of the Kings. Soon after, mysterious things began to occur. Many of the archaeologists that entered the tomb got ill and eventually died. It is recorded that during the 1920's, more than two dozen of these men died shortly after entering King Tut's tomb. This was the beginning of the curse of King Tut.

To many the curse of King Tut is still a mystery, to others it is just superstition, but yet there are still those who truly believe in the curse.

hi , i would like to share some of the tips for glowing skin and I read a lot about it and following certain things to have better skin and to be healthy...

1. After getting up drink lots of water about a bottle full( to detoxify)

2. Take some time and do jogging for 10 min initially or brisk walking for 1/2 hr initially then increase alternatively with some basic yogic exercise including breathing this is because when you workout you sweat and sweat throws out the toxins which cleans your skin and the blood circulates well , making your skin glow... do not forget to sip water while exercising ... on the whole exercise and water makes wonder for skin in turn helps in healthy body too...

3. Eat fruits everyday oranges, papaya, sweet lime are real good , include tomatoes in your food they are very good for skin.. eat curds everyday..

4. Do not take hot bath everyday only when you feel tired or sick else take cold or warm water bath..

5.Carry an umbrella in the hot sun .. after a sun tan apply tomato pulp and take a cold bath.. and wear warm clothes in the chill especially socks ( even at home) else you get a cracked feet

6. Do pranayama regularly atleast for 1/2 hr ... this will surly help you get good oxygen needed for the cells in turn helping in good skin, and good health..

7.Apply avacado oil which is natural for dry skin its real good non sticky better than creams and lotion .. apply it in the night even to your lips.. in winters it makes wonders ..you get many brands , biotic is real good..

8. Avoid creams as much as possible they damage the skin rather helping.. use natural oil which suits your skin..they are in the amrket to make bussiness fooling us and adds completely fool us .. dont be carried away use your sense and be natural...

9. Avoid make up.. be natural... if needed apply but dont keep it for long ... in unavoidable situations use the best one do not go for the cheap saying its economical .. make good research before buying products .. since you get many fake ones in market..

10 For the cracked heels dip legs in warm water with milk cream for 10 min.. scrub it with honey and sugar for 5-10 min then rub with hot water towel..then apply oil... and wear a socks...

11. For oily face wash your face with cold water many times a day.. use the chick pea flour instead of soaps and face washes all time.. keep lime water ( lime squeezed in water ) in the fridge and apply it on the face in the evening after all the work outside is done ...then wash .. apply ice all over the face ... this not only removes oil but also prevents acne..

12. For the acne.. the best is not to apply any cosmetic creame... or make up over it .. follow the above , and exercises and drink lots of water to remove toxins... in addition drink bitter gourd , cucumber , juice tomato , carrot juices often... also use freshly ground neem leaves on the face as a pack often...

13.With all this you need to control the food habbits .. for oily skin- do not eat buttery, oil, heavy non veg ( veg is best you can get protiens from milk ,soya , grains) fried , junk food ..

Apart from the miraculous characteristics of the Qur'an , it also contains what we can term "mathematical miracles." There are many examples of this fascinating Qur'anic aspect. One example of this is the number of repetitions of certain words in the Qur'an. Some related words are surprisingly repeated the same number of times. Below is a list of such words and the number of repetitions in the Qur'an.

The statement of "seven heavens" is repeated seven times. "The creation of the heavens (khalq as-samawat)" is also repeated seven times.

"Day (yawm)" is repeated 365 times in singular form, while its plural and dual forms "days (ayyam and yawmayn)" together are repeated 30 times. The number of repetitions of the word "month" (shahar) is 12.

The number of repetitions of the words "plant" and "tree" is the same: 26

NASA's Swift Satellite Catches a Star being Exploded

When a gigantic star blows up, astronomers call it a "supernova." Over the past 100 years, astronomers have observed thousands of these explosions. But in every case, they were seeing the star after the explosion took place. They were seeing the hot debris from the explosion racing outward. It would be like seeing fireworks a few seconds after they go off, when the colorful lights are shooting away from the puff of smoke that mark the locations of the actual explosion.

On January 9, 2008, Alicia Soderberg and Edo Berger of Princeton University, in Princeton, N.J., were using Swift’s X-ray Telescope to observe a distant spiral-shaped galaxy known as NGC 2770. Suddenly, at 9:33 in the morning Eastern Time, the telescope picked up a powerful burst of X-rays coming from the galaxy. The burst lasted 5 minutes before it faded away.

The X-rays were due to a powerful blast wave bursting through the star’s outer layers, and blowing it to “Kingdom Come.” The blast wave itself was triggered deep inside the star, when the nuclear engine at the center ran out of fuel and collapsed. For decades, astronomers have been hoping to see such an explosion. And now, for the first time, they have actually seen what happens when a star goes supernova.

For years they have dreamed of seeing a star just as it was exploding, but actually finding one is a once in a lifetime event. This newly born supernova is going to be the Rosetta stone of supernova studies for years to come.

History's Ghost in Old Lucknow

India’s history holds many ghosts. It is a land of old loves, ancient hatreds, tarnished dreams and fleeting glory. There are tales of tragedy, and tales of heroism. I am in Lucknow in North India, and I am drawn into a haunting story of courage in the face of insurmountable odds.

Lucknow was once ruled by the Nawabs of Oudh, until the British in the guise of the East India Company, removed the last ruler, Wajid Ali Shah whose profligacy outraged their sense of Victorian morality. The Province was of strategic importance to the Brits, and disregarding the fact that the Nawab was also a cultured nobleman and generous patron of the arts, his extravagant lifestyle provided a convenient excuse to take over the state.

It was a measure that they would regret.

The annexation of Oudh was just one of the many factors, which ignited the tinderbox of rebellion in 1857 and brought about the Great Indian Mutiny—now called The First War of Independence by Indian nationals. Insurrection had already broken out in other parts of the country, and Sir Henry Lawrence, the Chief Commissioner, prudently moved British and Anglo-Indian civilians (my great-grandmother among them) into the 60-acre British Residency in June 1857.

Today, 150 years later, I sit under a tamarind tree, on a bench bordering the lawns of the old Residency, listening to the drone of bees, and the harsh cawing of crows. The sunlight throws dancing specks of light through the leaves of my sheltering tree, dust devils whirl briefly in the warm breeze along the unpaved pathways, and the air carries the scent of marigold flowers. If I’d been here in June 1857, these sounds would have been drowned by the bursting of shells, the acrid smell of gunpowder, and the almost continuous bombardment of cannon. The surroundings would have been shrouded in the grey dust of crumbling masonry.

Within the buildings surrounding me today, was a defensive army of about 850 British officers and soldiers, backed by about 700 loyal native sepoys, and around 150 civilian volunteers. But also within these grounds were several hundred women and children, all of them huddled into a warren of underground rooms in the “Tykhana” or women’s quarters.

As I walk into the cramped Tykhana today, it is as if the place still holds the shadows of women soothing the fevers of dying children, stanching bloody wounds and bandaging torn limbs—while cringing at the whine of bullets and the heavy crash of cannonballs, slamming against the walls of their embattled shelter. The searing heat of that year’s June gave way to torrential monsoon rains, and with them came renewed outbreaks of typhoid, cholera, malaria and dysentery. The rooms, even today, carry the miasma of death.

Emerging into the sunlight, I am glad to be free of the claustrophobic weight of so much sorrow—yet there are other reminders scattered throughout the Residency. The splendid ballroom, converted into a hospital, bears the scars of shellfire. A few residences still stand, their mildew-covered walls like rotted teeth lying open to the sky. A commemorative pillar erected by the British in heartfelt gratitude, pays tribute to the courage of Indian sepoys—many of them Sikhs—who defended the Residency alongside their British compatriots. Without their unswerving loyalty, the small English army contingent could not have held out against the rebels.

The cemetery headstones tell their own tales of loss and bereavement. Sir Henry Lawrence valiant to the end, was killed in the early days of the Mutiny, and his grave in the cemetery honours his last whispered request, “Put on my tomb only this: ‘Here lies Henry Lawrence, who tried to do his duty. May the Lord have mercy on his soul.’”

It would be 141 days before Sir Colin Campbell and his Highland battalion backed by other army detachments, came to the rescue of the besieged occupants of the Residency on November 17th. Only 800 soldiers and non-combatants, along with about 550 ragged and painfully emaciated women and children survived the ordeal.

The conflagration of the Mutiny blazed across the Indo-Gangetic plain and the carnage on both sides left enduring scars of bitter mistrust. As a direct result of the uprising, the British government took over the reins of administration from the East India Company, and assumed full military, administrative and judicial powers over the nation. In 1858, India became Britain’s “fairest jewel in the Crown.”

Another legacy from the days of the Raj, is LaMartiniere Boys’ School—unquestionably one of the most unique educational institutions in the world. Set within fifty acres (part of which now forms a public golf course) the building is an extraordinary edifice, lavishly decorated with rampant lions, Grecian statuary, gargoyles and fluted colonnaded pillars. The ceiling and walls of chapel and its entrance hall are plastered in Wedgewood pink and blue motifs. Although a former Marquess, derisively labelled it “an over-embellished wedding cake” I think of it more kindly as a whimsical folly on a grand scale.

Named “Constantia” it was built by a wealthy French mercenary, Major-General Claude Martin as a palace for himself and the women of his harem—accommodated in a bibi-khana (women’s residence) in an adjoining wing.

Old Lucknow has the ambience of a medieval Turkish city, filled with crumbling, yet once splendid Islamic mosques, tombs and mansions such as the romantically named “Dilkhusha Palace”(Heart’s Delight”). I dismount from my rickshaw near the magnificent Rumi Darwaza, a gateway, to the old city, to explore an extraordinary building built in 1784. The Bara Imambara (once the residence of an Imam, or religious leader), originally built as a famine relief project, is a marvel of architecture: its 15-metre high vaulted central hall stretches for 50 metres (the longest in the world) without any intermediary supporting pillars. And the acoustics are remarkable. My guide gently tears a piece of paper at the far end of the gallery and I hear the ripping sound on the opposite side of the hall.

The upper floor consists of labyrinthine passages, the “bhul-bhuliaya” and visitors are challenged to find their way out of the maze. Few succeed and guides are poised to come to the rescue. The acoustics here too are astonishing. A whisper against one wall can be picked up beyond several turns and twists of the corridors. Always suspicious of political and military conspiracies, this how the rulers of Lucknow guarded against disloyalty on the part of the keepers of the Imambara.

Also within the Bara Imambara complex is a fine mosque, but it’s off-limits to non-Muslims, so I explore the baori instead. According to my guide, this is a well that is reputedly so deep as to be fathomless. He chucks a large stone in, and says, if I come back after a couple of hours, I just might be lucky enough to hear it hit the bottom!

Lucknow, like any other city, is, of course, much more than its historical monuments. The modern shopping area of Hazrat Gunj is blandly commercial with upscale shops and garish concrete buildings. By contrast, the narrow lanes of Aminabad bazaar in old Lucknow, seethe with colour and movement. Popular Bollywood film music blares out from small food kiosks, flower sellers offer marigold garlands, and fruit and vegetable stalls are piled high with produce. Cows amble through the crowds, unhindered by shoppers, and vice-versa. At a clothing store, I buy a strawberry pink cotton kurta (tunic) adorned with “chikkan” work—a type of shadow embroidery unique to Lucknow—for less than the cost of half a bag of groceries in Canada!

Task Manager disabled problem in windows xp

It is due to some kind of virus/ trojan activity which normally disables the task manager.Now due to this problem when ever the user press alt+ctrl+del to launch windows task manager it gives an error saying “Task Manager is being disabled by your administrator”.

Solution:

To Enable the Disabled Task Manager on your system

1. Press window key+r to show run prompt

2. Follow the following steps

1. Enter gpedit.msc in the run prompt and click OK
2. In the Group Policy settings window
3. Select User Configuration
4. Select Administrative Templates
5. Select System
6. Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
7. Select Remove Task Manager
8. Double-click the Remove Task Manager option’.
9. Set the property of this item as disabled.

Way back in February, I told you about a contest where kids in grades Kindergarten to 12 were invited to create a logo for the Google home page. The theme for the contest was "What if...?" and the winning entry was promised the honor of seeing his or her design grace the Google home page on May 22. Well, today is the day and if you visit Google.com, you will see Grace Moon's lovely drawing entitled "Up in the Clouds."

Moon is a 6th grader at Canyon Middle School in Castro Valley, California. Her vision of "What if...?" is a beautiful world in the sky. Of her design, she writes: "This new world is clean and fresh, and people are social and enlightened. Every person here is treated as family no matter who they are. The bright sun heats this ideal place with warmth, love, and brightens everyone's day." It's a lovely drawing and an beautiful sentiment.

Grace Moon may have won the top spot, but I am sure the judges had a difficult time choosing from all these wonderful entries. Congratulations to Grace and all the kids who answered the question "What if...?" with their own unique visions.
